Description

Red Mountain Golf Club

Winding its way through a truly dramatic site of 1,400-rai (550 acres) former tin mine in the heart of Phuket, Red Mountain is surely one of Asia’s most exciting new golf courses. Scars left from the tin-mining era have been imaginatively incorporated into the overall scheme, creating a unique character, at the same time, establishing an indelible link with an important era in the Island’s past. There are long par 4’s stretching up to 470 yards for the long hitters, drivable par 4’s with the chance of a birdie, and the signature 9th hole – a dramatic par 3 with a 50m drop from tee to green. Each hole presents a different challenge with a variety of options, rewarding those with a tactical approach to their game and the measured skill to see it safely to the green.

Scorecard / Local Rules

- All golfers must take a cart at Red Mountain. The course is not walkable for most people as there is considerable elevations and some distance between tees. The mandatory use of carts ensures speed of play for all golfers.

- As with all courses in Thailand, caddies are mandatory.

- Golf at Red Mountain may take a little longer than usual given the topography of the land and the distance between some of the holes. In addition, we expect that many golfers will like to take photos of the spectacular scenery especially at the 16th and 17th holes. Whilst we encourage all golfers to enjoy the spectacular scenery a marshall is on course at all times and players are expected to complete their rounds in 4 ¼ hours.

- Maximum group size is 4 golfers.

- All golfers must wear collared shirts and appropriate footwear. Shorts are encouraged. Hats are suggested.
