Khao Luk Chang Bat Cave
Khao Luk Chang Bat Cave is one of the most popular attractions in Khao Yai National Park and is listed on almost all guided tour to the park. Located six kilometers from the park’s north entrance, this cave is home to hundreds of thousands of bats which can be seen streaming out of the cave at dusk each evening. Visits generally are set up one hour before sunset. After a small hike to the cave and while the sun sets, hundreds of thousands of bats take off for hunting time. A fun way to visit the cave is to arrive there by elephant trekking, which can be organized with the nearby elephant camps.

Khao Yai National Park
About 180 kilometers from Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park is Thailand’s first national park and the third largest in the country. It is part of the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai forest complex and its boundary covers four provinces. The park has beautiful landscapes, comprising of jungles, streams, waterfalls, and a great variety of flora and fauna. It also has an abundance of wildlife within the rain/evergreen forests. Some often-seen mammals include barking deer, gibbons, and porcupines, to name a few. Other more elusive species are Asian black bears, jackals, and otters. The park also has other activities such as camping, trekking, cycling, and animal watching. Khao Yai National Park is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
