The Wangnoi

Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon
Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, or the “Monastery of the Auspicious Victory”, is located off the city to the southeast of Ayutthaya. It is one of the most important temples and has a long and illustrious history. In the northeast of Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is the ruins of a viharn containing a large statue of the Reclining Buddha which was constructed during the reign of King Naresuan. And unlike many of the other ancient sites in Ayutthaya, this is still an active temple where monks reside. People come here to not only pay respects to Buddha, but also to pay homage to one of the most respected kings in Thai history, King Naresuan the Great.

Bang Pa-In Palace
Bang Pa-In Palace is an ancient palace dating back to the Ayutthaya era. It was commissioned by King Prasart Thong and was later rebuilt by King Mongkut. The palace is divided into two zones. The inner zone is dedicated to the Royal Family and the outer zone is open to locals and tourists. Aside from holding ceremonies, the palace also stores ancient weapons, carved statues, and tributes to the Royal Family.

Ayutthaya Historical Park
Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ayutthaya Historical Park is located on an island surrounded by three rivers where the old capital used to be. Stretching across a 3,000-rai plot of land, the park consists of 425 unearthed archaeological sites, located within and outside the city wall. Ayutthaya Historical Park is also home to ruins of impressive temple and palaces of the ancient Ayutthaya Kingdom, as well as historical sites, archeological finds, and priceless art objects of cultural identity.

The Wangnoi's Restaurant
Located at the clubhouse of The Wangnoi, the restaurant is an all-day dining serving Thai, Asian, and international cuisines. Fine wines are also available.
